“Crowded Table”
A Celebration of Diversity and Inclusivity
Our spring concert theme, Crowded Table, references a song by The Highwomen, a country supergroup composed of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires. They write: “I want a house with a crowded table, and a place by the fire for everyone.” This will be our second concert in our three-concert series, “Women: Together We Can Change the World.”

In 1988, Womansong, under the leadership of founding director Linda Metzner, created the New Start Fund to provide a hand up for a brighter and safe future to women in Western North Carolina. Through grants and scholarships, we support women who are starting on a new path to greater self-sufficiency.
The New Start Fund is administered by a volunteer group of Womansong members. This committee raises funds, and working with social service agencies and community colleges, distributes the funds.
