Hands-Off Rally – Supporting Social Justice and Community

Womansong members were proud to show up and sing for the Hands Off Rally on Saturday, April 5th. It was a peaceful gathering of more than 7500 folx at Pack Square downtown Asheville. Womansong, under the leadership of Martha Burrows and Sarah Rubin, led the community in uplifting, motivating songs such as Never Turning Back, Make Good Trouble, and Lead with Love. Standing Up for Social Justice!

On February 17, 2025, WomansongNC members attended the “People vs. Griffin” rally in Asheville. This rally was to protest the alleged attempt to overturn an election for Democratic candidate Justice Allison Riggs on the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Estimates of attendees are noted anywhere from 500 to 800. Performers sang songs of peace and love in support of a democratic system and accepting the results of the “peoples votes”.
